Bittergourd pitla:

Ingredients:

Bittergourd[long size-4]
Tamarind juice[1/2 cup]
Bengal gram[100 gm]
Black gram[100 gm]
Dhaniya[50 gm]
Red chilli[few]
Onion[big-4]
Garlic[6-piece]

Preparation:
First of all,cut the bitter gourd into two pieces.Remove all the seeds and wash the BG[BITTERGOURD]. Add salt before boiling the bittergourd with tamarind juice for 5min.Fry the grams, dhaniya, and chillies & make them into powder.Keep the BG seperately to dry.Grind the onion & garlic with the powder. Then stuff all the powder inside the bittergourd.press them tightly.at last fry them in oil and serve it hot.

Tips::
--You can smear some corn flakes powder mixed with water over the stuffed BG[bitter gourd].So that the powder inside will not come out.
--Half boil the bittergourd to be crunchy.

Surprised USEFUL FOR DIABETIC PATIENTS[Avoid frying but just boil it].

With regards,

Savitha,

If u r not use to consume garlic, then try using small redonions, chopped.
But this time u need saute it in the heated oil as soon as the mustard cracks along with the curry leaves n green chillies.
That will be more tastier.

Thanks all
